Our Interventions

Reaching out for support is not a sign of weakness, it is the only path towards victory. We fight this battle with you. Let us go through the challenges together to finally achieve your goals.

DMI psychologists want to assist you in finding solutions to real-life problems. We treat each of our clients with care and adapt our methods to be a good fit for you. We have the knowledge and experience in tailoring interventions individually, to help people living with a disability achieve their goals.

We know that no one can do it all on their own, and we are here to help you maintain a balance of your physical. social, and psychological health. We can even offer guidance to your family members and caregivers. We want you to have a strong support network that will help you create meaningful changes to your life.

Some of the common problems we provide support for include:

  • Mental health disorders (e.g., depression, anxiety, schizophrenia)
  • Functional capacity assistance and addressing barriers to improved independent living skills
  • Life transitions (e.g., end of school. release from incarceration)
  • Positive behaviour interventions
  • Low confidence and self-esteem
  • Social isolation
  • Relationships and conflict
  • Anger management

We feel our best when we are physically, socially, and psychologically healthy. Having trouble in one of these areas can sometimes lead to problems in the other two. Group therapy offers an alternate platform to one-on-one therapy, as it provides additional help with developing communication and social skills. In a group setting, you realise you are not alone.

You can learn how to express yourself, accept feedback from others, and develop self-awareness by interacting with others.
